After their 5-2 rout of Fiorentina last weekend, Cagliari made the surprising leap into the top four places in Serie A. Currently sitting above Atalanta, Napoli and AS Roma, the Sardinian outfit are unquestionably the most improved team in Italian football, unrecognisable from the side that finished 15th last term.
That view is backed up by statistics which reveal that Cagliari are the team with the biggest increase in points over the first 12 games of this season, earning 10 more than they had at this stage of 2018/19.
