Inter’s Alexis Sanchez and Gary Medel of Bologna were both substituted during Chile’s 0-0 draw with Colombia due to injury concerns.
Sanchez was withdrawn in the 88th minute, however assessments have revealed that the ankle problem was due to impact trauma rather than a muscular problem and therefore is not too serious.
Medel, however is suspected to have suffered a muscle strain and will need further examinations to determine the extent of the injury. The midfielder is almost certain to miss Chile’s next match versus Guinea on Tuesday.
