Andrea Pirlo ahead of Barcelona clash: “It’s not a decisive game, but we want to see what our worth is.”

Speaking ahead of his Juventus sides’ Champions League clash against Barcelona on Wednesday, Andrea Pirlo – his words transcribed in Sky Italia – pointed out the numerous absences in his squad due to injury and Covid-19 cases.

The Italian also played down the importance of the match, arguably his first big test at the helm of the Bianconeri, against a struggling Barcelona side.

“[Cristiano Ronaldo] underwent a test like everyone else has, so we’ll have to wait for the results this evening and then we’ll have the definitive answer [as to whether he will play]. Chiellini definitely won’t play. For Bonucci, we’ll see tomorrow morning, even if he’s still not at his best. We haven’t been given the all clear on De Ligt yet.”

“These are the sorts of games that everyone wants to be playing, we have this opportunity and we can’t wait to get on the pitch and show what we can do. It’s not a decisive game, but we still what to see what our worth is.”

“[Dejan Kulusevski and Ansu Fati] are two different players, but who each have a great potential. They have a bright future and they play with the two best players of this era. They will learn a lot through this.”
