Arthur Melo open to Juventus switch as part of swap deal involving Miralem Pjanić

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported this afternoon that the potential swap deal involving Barcelona’s Arthur Melo and Juventus’ Miralem Pjanić has seen a new development, as the Brazilian has shown himself to be increasingly open to the deal, as discussions continue with director Fabio Paratici.

Juventus’ contract offer is said to reach 5 million euro per year, a sum which would multiply the midfielder’s current earnings fivefold. Should an agreement be reached with the player, the two teams will need to come to an agreement before June 30, the date at which clubs’ balance sheets are to be submitted to UEFA. Pjanić is valued at 10 million euro less than his 23-year-old counterpart, meaning Barcelona are expected to demand a higher fee as part of the deal.
