In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini reveals his experience having suffered from Covid-19 around the time of his team’s Champions League clash with Valencia.
“The night before the game in Valencia, I already had Covid-19, I felt bad. The afternoon of the game I felt even worse.”
“The two nights afterwards, at Zingonia, I slept little. I ddn’t have a fever, but I was in pieces. At night I would hear ambulance sirens every two minutes, it seemed like war. I thought to myself, ‘I can’t leave now, I still have so much to do’.”
“I had lost my sense of taste , but I didn’t know that I had the virus. Then, the tests taken a ten days ago confirmed that I had had Covid-19.”
