Ivan Jurić plays down Hellas’ European hopes: “We have to be safe from relegation as soon as possible.”

Speaking to DAZN following his side’s 2-1 victory over Cagliari, manager Ivan Jurić was quick to play down any talk of European qualification, with his side just one point adrift of Napoli, instead choosing to focus on steering clear of relegation.

“It was a very important game, we have to be safe from relegation as soon as possible. Today there was too much adrenaline after all this time and in the first 30 minutes we dominated, then you had the red card which shouldn’t have been. The guys were fantastic though.”

“The boys can look at the table in their free time, but I know that the most important objective is for this club. We’ll do the best we can and see where we end up, but right now I know what I have to achieve.”
