UEFA confirm priority is finishing domestic leagues as Euro 2020 is postponed to June 2021

UEFA have released a statement this afternoon confirming the postponing of Euro 2020 until June 2021 as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19, after a series of meetings between the continent’s football associations and the federation’s executive committee. A working group was set up in order to find ways to complete the remainder of the fixtures of the domestic leagues.

The decision follows yesterday’s meeting between representatives from all Serie A clubs, in which they unanimously supported finishing the campaign before the 30th June as well as postponing this summer’s tournament to accomodate arrangements for this.
