Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori set to arrive in Italy as Milan wrap up loan deal

Gianluca Di Marzio reports tonight that Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori’s transfer to Milan is virtually a done deal, with the defender potentially in the running for a place in this weekend’s squad for the match against Atalanta.

The English centre-back will arrive in Lombardy on an initial loan deal, with an option to make the deal permanent come the summer for a €30m fee.

The player is expected to arrive in Italy in the coming hours, as the Rossoneri look to accelerate a deal for the defender with multiple absences in the backline ahead of the match against La Dea.

Tomori arrives having seen little game time under Frank Lampard this season, and as Milan look to push on for an upcoming title race by bolstering their defensive options. This will be the third Rossonero signing of the month, in a window which has also seen the arrivals of Torino midfielder Soualiho Meïté and Croatian striker Mario Mandžukić.
