Ex-Roma star Nainggolan slams Monchi

Former Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has slammed Monchi and has criticised the Spaniard for poorly managing his exit from the Giallorossi.

Nainggolan had left Roma to join Inter in 2018 in a deal which involved both Nicolo Zaniolo and Davide Santon. Monchi was the club’s sporting director back then.

The Belgian told Teleradiostereo about his exit from the club recently and stated: “I am very disappointed with how it ended, a director arrived who said he loved me, but then in the end he sold me. If this gentleman had not arrived (Monchi), many players that Sabatini had signed would never have left.

“I’m not in a place where I don’t want to greet those I don’t respect, I was right to go away. The Roma fans with me have always been good, I always feel a great warmth, a warmth that I have never felt elsewhere, for me everything was perfect. So many people ask me to come back but I left Rome at a good time.”
