Milan eye Nantes striker as Kaio Jorge alternative

Milan are keeping an eye on the situation of 22-year-old Nantes striker Randal Kolo Muani, as the failure to sign Kaio Jorge yet has led to some rethinking in the club’s management.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have stated that Nantes have valued Muani at around 10 million and his value has risen because of his impressive performances for the club in Ligue 1 last season. He had scored nine goals, also racking up eight assists for them. He also played a key role in their fight against relegation.

Nantes’ asking price for the striker though, could reduce because Muani’s current deal expires next summer. Southampton are also keeping an eye on him and many other clubs could also come calling soon. He is currently playing for Les Bleus at the Olympics.

Milan are expected to keep monitoring him for the next few days because money isn’t at a premium yet, considering their summer spending so far. The sale of either Rafael Leao or Jens Petter Hauge could help them get some cash to move for him.

Leao has admirers in the Premier League, while Hauge continues to attract interest from Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. But Milan want to give Stefano Pioli a young striker to work with and Muani is the new name on their list.
