Milan eye Romagnoli contract talks, as Juventus prowl

Milan will hold a meeting about contract talks with Alessio Romagnoli soon but the issue is complicated, with Juventus also keeping an eye on the Italian.

This comes from La Gazzetta dello Sport today, who claim that Milan have planned a face-to-face meeting with the player to put down the first bits of terms down for a new deal. But the Rossoneri aren’t going to give him a much bigger wage than the current one, as his value has reduced at the club. The player though, may not find that acceptable.

Amidst all of that, Romagnoli’s candidature as a future replacement for Giorgio Chiellini at Juventus is gaining momentum. Mino Raiola has great relations with the Bianconeri but even at Juve, they are now looking to go overboard because of their tough financial situation.

Federico Cherubini is looking to reduce the wage bill and it remains to be seen if Juve can match Romagnoli’s wage, with the defender’s contract at Milan running out in 2022.
