Napoli make progress in new Insigne contract

Some positive signs have emerged from Napoli’s attempts to hand Lorenzo Insigne a new deal.

This comes from La Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that something has changed on that front. An hour ago, Aurelio de Laurentiis met Insigne’s agent Vincenzo Pisacane. The parties had lunch together and they took it as a chance to retake some steps to discuss terms over a new deal for the club captain.

Napoli really appreciate the attitude of the Euro 2020 winner and they like what they’ve seen from him over the last two weeks. The Partenopei want to keep the player and the winger also wants to stay at the club.

It remains an economic question, as the player wants €5.6 million per season but the club is only offering around €4.5 million. Talks are still at an initial stage and the meeting is a good sign.
