Roma will only be able to secure the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria only if they manage to sell Steven N’Zonzi this summer.
This comes from Corriere dello Sport, who had reported yesterday that the Giallorossi have already agreed personal terms with Zakaria. They report the same today, but add further details and context to a potential move.
They claim that Gladbach want €20 million to sell the Swiss midfielder but he can be signed for €15 million plus bonuses because Zakaria’s contract expires next summer.
Zakaria is at the top of Mourinho’s shortlist for midfielders and they don’t prefer Lucas Torreira, who seems destined for Fiorentina. But to afford the Gladbach star, they’d need to sell N’Zonzi, so that they can get enough cash to sign the Swiss player.
