Sampdoria president on Damsgaard: “I want him to go to Roma.”

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has recently made it clear that he wants winger Mikkel Damsgaard to join Roma this summer.

Ferrero was talking to Il Corriere dello Sport recently and he gave his views about Damsgaard and his future this summer.

The Samp president said: “Damsgaard is the player Roma need. If they call me up we can talk about it and find an agreement. He’s better than Xhaka.

“Damsgaard is a quality player, he can even play in front of the defense. So let’s get together, all I’m waiting for is a phone call and we can find a solution. Xhaka’s not coming to Roma, so they’re still missing a player in the middle of the pitch.”

“I want him to go to Roma. I am a Romanista and Damsgaard would be a great reinforcement.”

The report states that Damsgaard is valued at €25 million right now and it has been suggested that Juventus are also interested in him, along with Liverpool and Everton. Damsgaard did return to Sampdoria training on Tuesday but he is one of the players expected to leave, apart from Omar Colley.

The report also talks about Roma’s chase of Teun Koopmeiners, stating that Atalanta have made an offer for the Dutchman and they’re offering €15 million plus bonuses of €3 million while AZ are looking to earn €20 million including bonuses. The Giallorossi aren’t leading the chase of the midfielder.
