There is still some distance between Fiorentina and Dusan Vlahovic regarding a new deal for the Serbian striker.
La Repubblica have stated today that decision time has now arrived for Vlahovic since Atletico Madrid have made an offer exceeding €60 million to Fiorentina for him. He needs to make a decision about whether to stay for another season and sign a new deal at La Viola or leave after one great season.
While talks have been quite extensive regarding a renewal for the striker, the negotiations have stopped for now because of the differences between the parties.
Fiorentina made an offer which would’ve had Vlahovic earning €4 million per season and he would have had a €80 million release clause from the summer of 2022 onwards. But the Serbian’s agents want the clause to be reduced to €70 million and a higher commission.
It has been suggested that this could be a tactic to postpone the new deal and in the meantime, look at any other options that come up in the market.Â
Vlahovic himself wants €2 million more in the new deal. Fiorentina are talking to the striker to let him know that the new deal will be the highest they’ve paid in club history.
