Surgeon of Napoli’s Osimhen: “I had to insert six plates and eighteen screws.”

The surgeon who operated on Victor Osimhen’s cheekbone and eye orbit injury has revealed that he had to insert to six plates and 18 screws during the operation.

Gianpaolo Tartaro spoke to 1 Station Radio and he revealed some details about Osimhen’s recovery and the operation. He stated:

“Osimhen injury was not a simple cheekbone fracture but also affected several bones of the face. It was not a shock trauma, but compression: the kinetic force generated by the crushing of Osimhen’s face against Skriniar’s created devastating damage.

“It is still too early to talk about recovery times because the surgery was really complex: the conditions of the player’s face were very bad but I guarantee that the surgery was perfectly successful.”

Initial reports have suggested that Osimhen could be out for three months.
