Agent of Victor Osimhen on summer Manchester United links: “Victor wanted to stay at Napoli”

The agent of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has revealed that the player’s will is to stay at the Partenopei.

Osimhen had drawn heavy links with a move to Manchester United in the summer, with Jorge Mendes having tried to place Cristiano Ronaldo at Napoli and taking the Nigerian to Old TRafford. But a move like that didn’t work out and Osimhen stayed at Napoli.

The striker scored for the Partenopei against Bologna and his agent  – Roberto Calenda, spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via TN)  recently. He revealed that clubs are interested in his client but he wants to stay at Napoli for the time being.

He stated: “We haven’t found out now that Osimhen is the object of interest of many teams. But things are done in three: who sells, who buys and the player. I was immediately clear this summer because I knew that there would be a fuse for news coming out of those who had other interests maybe. But me, the boy and Napoli had clear ideas.

“With the talk of the departure, someone went wrong. It was Victor’s will to stay at Napoli and play the Champions League that he won last year together with his team-mates. Victor wanted just that: to have a great year with Napoli, between the league and the Champions League. He has a long contract with the blue club. The market is dynamic, but our will is to continue with Napoli and continue to do well.”

Osimhen has impressed for Napoli since he joined the club from Lille. Despite an injury this season, the striker has already found the back of the net three times in the league and he has one goal in the UEFA Champions League too.
