Manchester United are declining Jorge Mendes’ approach to swap Cristiano Ronaldo with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
While Jorge Mendes has approached Napoli with a chance for the Partenopei to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, he wants United to pay a high fee for Victor Osimhen in return.
But Goal Italia have reported that there are several hinderances for a potential swap deal and a key hinderance is United’s denial. They are much more keen to spend the big bucks for Ajax’s Antony and they would not want to pay move on Ronaldo, as of now. United do consider Ronaldo to be more of a problem than a resource, the report claims.
Even Napoli are also hesitating now and many at the club – including Aurelio de Laurentiis, believe that Ronaldo will not be an upgrade on Osimhen, even though the Portuguese’s signing will bring about a media frenzy for the Partenopei. There are also concerns about how Ronaldo’s arrival will negatively impact the current Napoli dressing room.
