Atalanta’s Merih Demiral has stated that if given a chance, he would like to play the Champions League games against Villarreal and Manchester United once again.
La Dea had failed to beat United in the Champions League group stages, as Cristiano Ronaldo had helped out the Red Devils in both the games. Atalanta finished third in their group and are playing in the Europa League now.
Demiral spoke to Tuttosport recently and he revealed that he would want to play games against Portugal, United and Villarreal once again.
He said: “I would like to play the play-off against Portugal with the national team again. With Atalanta, I would say the games against Manchester United and Villarreal in Bergamo but also that of Old Trafford.”
The Turk also spoke about La Dea’s adventure so far in the Europa League and claimed: “We want to try to win every match, in the league and in the Europa League. The goal is to go all the way: it would also be a great thing for Italian football.”
Atalanta are fifth in Serie A this season and Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are eight points behind Juventus but have a game in hand.
