Brazil set to make contact for Roma boss Jose Mourinho

Brazil are interested in hiring Jose Mourinho as a replacement for Tite and contact is set to be made by the Selecao.

La Repubblica today claim that Mourinho is currently in Porttugal to celebrate Christmas with his family. In the next few hours, an intermediary of the Brazil national team will take off from Sao Paulo, as the Selecao are looking for a manager who can be worthy of managing a team full of stars. Pep Guardiola has rejected them before, with Carlo Ancelotti keen to stay at Real Madrid.

Ednaldo Rodrigues , the president of the CBF, the Brazilian football federation, has decided to personally take over the talks and he has given a mandate to a powerful international agent to begin build relationships and probe the availability of the best coaches in the world.

The intermediary is on excellent terms with Jorge Mendes, who represents Mourinho. Brazil want a response by the end of January, with Portugal also said to be keen on holding a meeting.

The report also goes on to state that Mourinho isn’t fully happy at Roma, the club’s ambitions, growth and the attitudes of several players. He has been informed that resources aren’t unlimited because of FFP restrictions, with his contract set to run out in 2024.
