Chelsea are interested in the possibility of signing Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries.
While the Nerazzurri’s talks with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku rumble on, La Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that the Blues have expressed an interest in Dumfries and the prospect of losing the Dutchman does not scare the Nerazzurri.
There is a possibility that Chelsea’s move for Dumfries could be a different deal to the Lukaku one, as he would arrive once the Belgian has left on the loan deal. The issue currently lies in the fact that Inter want more than what Chelsea are looking to offer.
Chelsea value Dumfries at €25 million but Inter want about €40 million to sell the Dutchman. The success of a potential deal for Dumfries could well determine how much loan fee Inter pay to the Blues for Lukaku this summer and it could be understood in some days.
It is stated that Erik ten Hag has made a demand for Dumfries at Manchester United, but the combination of deals with Inter can help Chelsea in a possible deal. Sky Italia had claimed today that contact between Chelsea and Inter is expected to take place today.
