Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku set for Inter return after two months

Inter host Viktoria Plzeň in the Champions League on Wednesday. On loan from Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku should make the matchday squad as the Nerazzurri are looking to secure their qualification for the knock-out stages.

According to what is reported by Sky Sport Italia, Lukaku should get a call-up from manager Simone Inzaghi for Inter’s Champions League clash against the Czech side. The Belgian has understandably made improvements in his fitness, and the most likely outcome of the progress could be him making the bench for the Italian side on Wednesday.

Lukaku started training with his teammates last week but was unfit to feature for the club in the weekend’s Serie A fixture against Fiorentina.

It has been almost two months since the 29-year-old picked up a thigh injury. Since then, Inter have experienced both bad and good runs of results. Marcelo Brozović could miss the game against Plzeň but should be back for the Derby d’Italia on September 6.
