Roma star Henrikh Mkhitaryan yet to agree on a move to Inter

Inter are seeing potential in the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has recently become the UEFA Europa Conference League winner with Roma.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter are keen on making a summer transfer for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and have already submitted an offer for former Manchester United and Arsenal star. However, the player is yet to give a green light in regard to a potential transfer to Inter.

The story understands that the Nerazzurri president Steven Zhang has offered a two-year contract to the entourage of the Armenian. The proposal includes a salary package of €4million per year that could increase eventually with various performance-related bonuses.

Although he had to be withdrawn in the opening half of the final, the witty playmaker played an essential role in Roma’s run to their first European accolade. Despite showing traces of inconsistency, the 33-year-old ended the 2021/22 season with five goals and nine assists from 44 appearances in all competitions.

Mkhitaryan’s contract in the Italian capital expires in June 2022. As per the report, the player wants an extension with a fixed salary of over €3.5million per season, which the Giallorossi management doesn’t wish to match, meaning a separation is on the cards. Though, the player has not agreed to any external offers yet.
