Atalanta’s Josip Ilicic is dealing with mental health issues and depression and La Dea could now move the player on.
La Repubblica claim that Ilicic was not be called up for Atalanta’s games against Venezia and Inter because he is facing mental health issues once again and he had faced similar problems during the first wave of COVID-19 as well.
The situation of the player is said to be ‘complex’ as the club feels the need for Ilicic’s goals and assists but the player’s situation doesn’t make it possible at this point. It is important for Atalanta to know how much they can wait for the player to return before making a decision.
The club is trying to deal with the situation in a confidential manner – as it had when Ilicic had faced similar problems in the past. An exit this month isn’t excluded but Atalanta hope that Ilicic comes back happy and healthy.
