Inter to hold a meeting to discuss Ivan Perisic’s renewal amid interest from Chelsea and Juventus

Inter seem persistent in their attempt to keep hold of Ivan Perisic, with Juventus and Chelsea emerging as a few potential suitors for the Croatia international.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Inter management will hold a meeting between Monday and the next Tuesday with the entourage of Ivan Perisic to discuss the final terms of a pending contract renewal for the Croatian superstar.

Following the match against Sampdoria in the final week of Serie A 2021/22 season, the representatives of both parties will hold talks to close the gap in a potential agreement amid growing interest from Juventus and Chelsea in the Inter wing-back.

The report understands that the Nerazzurri will add clauses, based on goals and appearances, to a new two-year contract to reach the financial demands of the Croat. Perisic’s current contract at the club runs out in June 2022. Inter don’t want to lose the player, who has proved to be a talismanic character for Simone Inzaghi’s men this season, on a free transfer this summer.

But when it comes to figures, the player wants a three-year contract with an annual salary of €6million. Inter have been reluctant to meet the requests. However, they believe that adding new clauses could eventually lead both parties to find an agreement over the player’s renewal. The 33-year-old has racked up seven goals and seven assists from 34 league appearances this season.
