Inter star Hakan Çalhanoğlu set to be sidelined for multiple weeks

Hakan Çalhanoğlu had to stop training due to an injury on Thursday. If reports are understood to be true, the playmaker could be on the sideline for multiple weeks.

Sky Italia claim that Çalhanoğlu was found training prematurely with a thigh injury on Thursday morning. After carrying out subsequent tests, it appeared that the player had “a muscular distraction” in the flexor of the left thigh.

The report understands that the Turkey international will not be available for Inter’s next Serie A game against Udinese and could also miss the game against Roma on 1st October. Confirming the 28-year-old’s situation, Inter released an official statement. It reads:

“Hakan Calhanoglu underwent medical tests at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano today. They revealed that the Turkish midfielder has sprained his left hamstring. His condition will be reassessed next week.”

Inter marked their first victory in the Champions League on Wednesday evening as they thumped Viktoria Plzen 2-0 at San Siro.
