Inter’s De Vrij wins legal battle with his former representatives

Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has now won a legal battle with his former representatives SEG.

La Gazzetta dello Sport confirm reports from the Netherlands, claiming that SEG handled his transfer from Lazio to Inter and they had asked for a hidden commission in the deal despite it being a free transfer.

This is the first time an agency has been punished for illegal commission. The court in Amsterdam established that a compensation of €4.7 million be given to the player, as SEG had a secret agreement with Inter for paying commission and they had also asked for a certain percentage of the resale fee.

De Vrij is now with Mino Raiola and while no talks are ongoing with Inter, the Dutchman’s focus was on clarifying these older problems before thinking about his future.

His current deal at Inter runs out in the summer of 2023 and there has been talk of a potential Premier League move.
