Juventus reluctant to sack Massimiliano Allegri

Juventus suffered another setback in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, with Benfica beating Massimiliano Allegri’s men 2-1 on Italian soil.

Despite the underwhelming results on the trot, reports from Sky Italia suggest that Juventus are not considering sacking Massimiliano Allegri.

It is suggested that the Juve hierarchy is disappointed and worried after the team’s recent results (backed by poor performances), but they are not ready to fire the coach yet.

Since the start of the season, the Bianconeri have won just two games from eight matches in total. Their last win came against Spezia a fortnight ago, and since then, it has been a succession of dropping points.

Despite having played two matches in the Champions League this season, Allegri’s team has failed to open their points tally, already making it difficult for them to qualify for the knock-out stages.

According to Sky Italia’s report, Allegri spent more time in the locker room than usual following the 2-1 defeat to the Portuguese counterparts. Although there are concerns over his long-term future at the club, Juventus have not yet decided to part ways with the manager.
