Man Utd target Kim Min-jae’s release clause of €50m to be activated next summer

Since signing for Napoli, Kim Min-jae has made a commendable start to the new life in Serie A. However, concerns around the player’s future have already started to appear, with reports claiming that Manchester United have shortlisted the Korean as one of the targets for next summer.

According to Naples-based outlet Il Mattino, Kim has a release clause of €50 million which will be activated from July 1, 2023, meaning that any interested party would be able to sign the defender by paying the aforementioned amount and consequently triggering the buy-out clause next summer.

The report understands that Napoli have no intention to part ways with the 25-year-old just one year after bringing him in from Fenerbahçe for a transfer fee of around €20 million.

Since arriving at Nappes from Turkey, Kim has made eight appearances in all competitions. Although his effectiveness might’ve been overlooked in the presence of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has proved to be a sensational replacement for Lorenzo Insigne.

However, Kim is not far behind, with now Luciano Spalletti witnessing the defender accomplish the defensive duties in the same way as Kalidou Koulibaly would some time ago.
