Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is close to agreeing a new deal with the Partenopei and he will remain the highest paid player in the squad.
La Repubblica claim that there are now only a limited doubts about whether Koulibaly will sign a new deal with Napoli or not, with the club having already prepared a draft for the next deal.
Negotiations for the new deal are expected to start soon and Napoli’s plan is to put forward a deal worth €5 million per season for the defender. That is in line with the restrictions imposed on wages by Aurelio de Laurentiis. It is expected to be a three-year contract.
As things stand, Koulibaly is excited about the idea of a future ahead with Napoli and he is willing to take a small wage cut for it.
