Lazio considering selling former Liverpool midfielder as Napoli want to include Petagna in a potential deal

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is not happy with the performances of Luis Alberto as the club is considering parting ways with the Spaniard this summer.

According to the Roman edition of La Repubblica, Napoli have emerged as a candidate to sign the former Liverpool midfielder. It is believed that Aurelio De Laurentiis likes the player and will include Andrea Petagna in a potential deal for the 29-year-old midfield maestro this summer.

Napoli is edging closer to losing Fabian Ruiz, who shares the same agent with Alberto. Ruiz’s contract at Naples will come to an end in June 2022. He will leave the club for free if Napoli and the entourage of the player fail to reach an agreement over a contract renewal. Alberto could replace his compatriot at Naples.

Bound to a contract until June 2025 at Lazio, Alberto is valued at €30million and is currently on a salary of €2.5million per season. This season, the Spaniard has played 40 games across all competitions thus far, having racked up four goals and nine assists in the process.
