The upcoming summer transfer window could see a massive overhaul at Lazio, with a plethora of players intending to leave the Italian capital.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lazio are open to selling Luiz Felipe, Thomas Strakosha, Lucas Leiva, Patric, and Sergej Milinkoviฤ-Saviฤ this summer.
The report believes that president Claudio Lotito is keen on accumulating some substantial funds from their sales of the players. Sergej Milinkoviฤ-Saviฤ remains the hottest prospect on the list, and Lotito wants to shift the Serbian at the highest price possible.
Per the story, despite potentially selling Milinkoviฤ-Saviฤ at a high price, Lazio will seek to make economical signings to replace the midfielder this summer.
As a result, they have been keeping an eye on Royale Union Saint-Gilloiseโs Casper Nielsen for some time now. Currently playing in the top tier of Belgian football, Nielsen has enjoyed a decent run of form, having amassed seven goals and six assists across all competitions in the 2021/22 campaign.
Quite versatile, the 28-year-old Dane can play as a central midfielder, a defensive midfielder, and also in an attacking midfield position.
Belgian newspaper HLN reports that an offer of around โฌ6million could be enough to lure Nielsen away from Belgium. The playerโs current contract at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise runs until June 2024, with several English and French clubs reportedly keeping tabs on the situation.
