Federico Pastorello, the agent of Romelu Lukaku, has revealed that the Belgian has Chelsea’s fans in his hearts.
While Lukaku has been linked heavily with a return to the Nerazzurri, the striker’s agent spoke to La Repubblica about the situation of the ex-Manchester United man. He revealed that the Belgian still has love for Chelsea and club’s fans in his heart.
He told the outlet: “He has the club and the fans in his heart, he has never hidden it like the love for Anderlecht where he would like to end his career. But we cannot hypothesize negotiations. Chelsea are in takeover discussions, we do not know the new owners, let alone if we can open talks with Inter or AC Milan. We have to wait.”
Pastorello also spoke about where things have gone wrong for Lukaku this season and stated: “No one could have expected such a situation. I don’t discuss the technical choices, but it is obvious that there was a problem. The numbers, however, must be weighed: he is the best scorer of the team, with a low playing time compared to his teammates. The situation must be carefully evaluated, now we have to defend our place in the Champions League, there is the FA Cup final. Romelu is focused on this, we have not talked about anything else.”
The 28-year-old would reportedly have to take a wage cut to rejoin Inter, who would only be able to afford a loan deal this summer to bring him back.
Lukaku has eight Premier League goals this season, while scoring three times in the FA Cup.
