Mario Balotelli set to join Swiss side FC Sion

Former Milan, Inter and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is now set to join Swiss side FC Sion.

Sky Italia have claimed that Balotelli’s stint at Turkish side Adana Demirspor has now ended and agreement has been reached for the Italian to join Swiss outfit Sion. AEK Athens were also interested in the player, but Balotelli will now undergo a medical with Sion today and then sign a contract.

Balotelli had scored 19 goals for Adana last season, also racking up six assists in 33 games. Recently, in the club’s game against Ümraniyespor, Balotelli was involved in a quarrel with manager Vincenzo Montella, who later stated that he expects more from his striker, who will now leave Adana.

Now 32, Balotelli joined Adana after his exit from the now-Serie A side Monza and his last stint at Serie A came during his time at Brescia, where couldn’t make a mark in the top flight.
