Milan hopeful of completing the deal for Ligue 1 star despite intense competition

When it comes to the pursuit of Renato Sanches’ services, Milan are thought to be at the front of the queue.

According to a report from journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Milan are gradually closing in on completing the signing of Renato Sanches from Lille this summer, with an annual salary of around €4million plus bonuses prepared for the Portuguese superstar.

The report understands that there remains competition in the market for the former Bayern Munich midfielder, whose contract at Lille runs until June 2023. But, in all, the Rossoneri management remains hopeful of snapping up the midfielder’s signature. Milan are reported to have shown interest in Sanches since 2017.

Sanches also prefers a move to Italy. The Milan-based club sees Sanches as a suitable replacement for Franck Kessié, who has already agreed to join Barcelona on a four-year contract.

It is suggested that reaching an agreement with the Ligue 1 side over the valuation of the 24-year-old midfielder would not be an issue as the club is striving to find a definitive agreement.
