Former Milan manager Arrigo Sacchi has stated that Italy’s Euro 2020 win was a ‘miracle’, following Juventus’ loss to Villarreal in the Champions League.
The Bianconeri lost 3-0 in Turin on Wednesday, as goals from Gerard Moreno, Pau Torres and Arnaut Danjuma took the Yellow Submarines to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Sacchi spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the game and stated that Italy’s Euro 2020 win looks like a ‘miracle’ with every passing day. He said: “At this point we need to ask ourselves a question and try to find an answer quickly, the European Championships win was an authentic miracle.”
Sacchi had criticism for both Max Allegri and Unai Emery and he stated: “They moved as tacticians, and between the two Emery won. But he was too tactical, not very brave.”
No Italian team is now left in the Champions League and Atalanta are the only team competing in the Europa League.
