Milan could hand new deal to Zlatan Ibrahimovic despite knee injury

There is still of a possibility of Milan handing a new deal to Zlatan Ibrahimovic despite the recent surgery.

While Milan have confirmed that Ibrahimovic has undergone surgery on his knee, it has been stated that the Swede has been ruled out for the next seven to eight months.

MilanNews have reported that despite the surgery, a renewal could still be a possibility. The Rossoneri will not close the doors on the Swede and his injury will be gradually assessed by the club. The most likely scenario currently is that Milan and Ibra will constantly evaluate the post-operative situation and will discuss the type and timing of the agreement that can be signed between the parties.

It is expected that Zlatan will carry out the rehab at Milanello and he will be with and around the squad, without losing the line of communication with the whole staff. It is now said that he could be back on the pitch by January 2023. There has been talk of a possible retirement for the striker, with reports stating that he is ‘terrified’ of life post-football.
