Milan interested in talented Belgian youngster Charles De Ketelaere

Amid a flurry of interest from European heavyweights, Belgium-born youth sensation Charles De Ketelaere nears an exit from Club Brugge this summer.

As reported by journalist Daniele Longo, Milan have shown interest in luring De Ketelaere away from Belgium in the approaching summer transfer market.

With RedBird taking over the majority of Elliott’s stake in the Rossoneri, it is understood that the new owners are determined to make some notable signings in the summer.

The report understands that Milan could make around four or even five new signings to boost Stefano Pioli‘s perseverance. Touted to be a natural successor of Kevin De Bruyne for Belgium, De Ketelaere has emerged as a suitable target for the newly-crowned Italian champions.

The 21-year-old joined Club Brugge at the age of seven. From being a ball boy at the pitchside to making his senior debut for the club in 2019, the youngster has made 120 appearances for the senior side of the Belgian club so far.

However, in terms of numbers concerning goal contributions, the 2021/22 season topped his list of excellence, with De Ketelaere amassing 18 goals and 10 assists from 49 appearances in all competitions.

Although De Ketelaere is considered an attacking midfielder by trade, he has been seen occupying various positions across the midfield and attacking half in recent times. That said, the versatile attacker is bound to Club Brugge’s terms until June 2024.
