Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly passes Chelsea medical

Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly has now passed his Chelsea medical, ahead of a move to the Blues from the Partenopei.

Juventus were heavily linked with the defender and there were suggestions that the player was waiting for a move to Barcelona. But despite Juve’s meeting with his agent Fali Ramadani, Chelsea have now all but sealed the deal for Koulibaly.

Alfredo Pedulla has reported that Koulibaly underwent his Chelsea medical recently and he ‘brilliantly’ passed them ahead of the move. He is now ready to sign a contract with the club that will bind him to Stamford Bridge for five years.

It is now expected that once the announcement is made, Koulibaly will fly off to the United States for Chelsea’s pre-season camp. He could well make his debut for the side in the pre-season game against Charlotte on the 20th of July, although that possibility isn’t fully guaranteed yet.
