Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae rejected Rennes in favour of Serie A switch

New Napoli star Kim Min-Jae had rejected a chance to join Rennes in favour of heading to the Maradona this summer.

Daniele Longo has reported about the saga which invovled the South Korean defender, stating that he was pretty much a Rennes player for five hours as the French side were the first club to trigger his release clause at Fenerbahce.

Juventus had also been keeping tabs on Kim’s situation for two seasons but they never came forward or made an offer for him. Kim was only keen on joining Napoli and he made sure that his intermediaries worked in the direction of helping him seek a move to Napoli.

It was after this that the defender signed a three-year deal with Napoli with the option of the fourth year. Before Juve could even think about moving for him, the move to the Partenopei was sealed and Luciano Spalletti got himself a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.
