OFFICIAL | Alexis Sánchez’s Inter contract terminated ahead of Marseille move

Alexis Sánchez has edged close to a move to French side Marseille after reaching an agreement with Inter to terminate his contract.

The Chilean veteran came to Inter on loan from Manchester United for the 2019-20 season before permanently switching on a three-year deal at the end of it. Having scored 36 goals and registered 35 assists in 173 Serie A appearances with Inter, the 33-year-old felt the conclusion of his time in Italy following the club not being able to register him for their Champions League squad for next season.

According to a report from Gianluca di Marzio, there was a meeting last Wednesday between the representative of Inter and Sánchez’s entourage in order to finalise the terms of the termination agreement. And Sanchez arrived at Inter’s headquarters earlier today to define the agreement, which has now been reached and announced by the Nerazzurri.

Alexis Sánchez wants to show that he is still competitive despite his age and a move to Ligue 1 outfit Marseille is said to be close.
