OFFICIAL: Milan sign Divock Origi following departure from Liverpool

Milan have now sealed the signing of striker Divock Origi following the expiry of his contract at Premier League side Liverpool.

Origi had only been a bit-part player for the Reds last season and while there was an option to extend his contract by another season, it could have only been triggered if the Belgian made a certain amount of appearances.

But Milan have now sealed the signing, with Serie A confirming that documents about the signing have been submitted to the organisation’s offices.

The striker arrives as a free agent, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic still recuperating from his knee injury and the Swede is only expected to be back by early 2023.

In the 2021/22 season, Origi made only seven appearances in the Premier League and scored three goals for Jurgen Klopp’s side. In the Champions League, he played seven games and scored one goal while coming up with one assist as well.
