OFFICIAL | Roma sign Andrea Belotti on a free transfer

Roma have now sealed the signing of Italian striker Andrea Belotti on a free transfer.

The Giallorossi have already made two prominent purchases this summer, having brought in Paulo Dybala and Gini Wijnaldum. Nemanja Matic also arrived on a free transfer.

While a move for Belotti was laying in wait for some weeks, the Giallorossi have now signed the Italian forward about a couple of months after his contract at Torino had expired.

Belotti had received offers from multiple clubs following his expiry with Torino but he had accepted Roma’s offer, but the Giallorossi were only waiting to make some sales. Felix Afena-Gyan’s move to Cremonese has allowed them the financial room to sign Belotti, as Eldor Shomurodov’s move to Bologna couldn’t go through.

Belotti had also received an offer from Newcastle United back in January but the ex-Palermo man pegged it back. There have been suggestions that Belotti was wanted by Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur as well.
