Paulo Dybala expected to start for Roma in Serie A opener

Summer signing Paulo Dybala is expected to start for Roma in their Serie A opener against Salernitana.

The Giallorossi have made a splash in the market, having signed both Dybala and Georginio Wijnaldum. While the Argentine arrived for free, the Dutch midfielder has arrived on an initial loan deal. Nemanja Matic has also arrived on a free transfer.

Sky Italia have reported about the potential line-ups in the Giallorossi’s game against the Salerno-based side later this today. They claim that Dybala is likely to start on Sunday, with Tammy Abraham and Nicolo Zaniolo also expected to start from the first whistle.

It is expected that Leonardo Spinazzola will not start but Nicola Zalewski will start at right wing-back, with Jose Mourinho set to go for a 3-4-2-1 formation against Davide Nicola’s side. Chris Smalling, who starred in the Conference League final, is also expected to start in the middle of the back three.

It is not expected that Wijnaldum will start but the Dutchman could be on the bench.
