Relation between Roma’s Mourinho and Zaniolo has gone cold

The relationship between Roma boss Jose Mourinho and Nicolo Zaniolo is said to have gone cold.

La Repubblica have talked about Zaniolo’s situation at the Giallorossi today, claiming that Mourinho and Zaniolo ‘no longer love each other’ and something has changed in their relationship in recent weeks and months.

It is stated that Mourinho knew he would be asked about Zaniolo in the recent press conference and that is why he carried a paper which said ‘second question’.

Before Zaniolo left for international duty, something had broken in the relationship with Mourinho after the exclusion in the derby and the whistles against Vitesse. The report raises question marks over the fact that when Roma had faced Bodo/Glimt in November, Zaniolo hadn’t played because the synthetic turf could have had an affect on his knees.

But he is now expected to be selected for the next game. Therein, says the report, lies an inconsistency. While Zaniolo had seemed happy after the derby win, he was ‘burning’ deep inside.
