Romelu Lukaku & Marcelo Brozovic expected to start for Inter in Serie A opener, Gosens remains a doubt

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi has been handed an injury boost ahead of the Nerazzurri’s opening day fixture against newly promoted Serie A side Lecce.

Midfielder Marcelo Brozović couldn’t feature in Inter’s final friendly against Villarreal last Sunday as he was sidelined due to calf fatigue. But recently, Sky Italia have stated that Nerazzuri’s star midfielder will make his return against Lecce as Brozović has successfully recovered from his minor discomfort.

Inzaghi will face a dilemma in selecting his left-back as Robin Gosens looks recovered from his pre-season injury with Di Marco also in contention for selection, “I keep feeling better, especially after the most recent injury which kept me out for a few days, we’re ready for Saturday and we have a great desire to do well” the German said.

Romelu Lukaku, after a few pre-season games following his ankle injury, looks raring to go in for Inter’s season opener and will be embarking on a journey to prove his worth after a nightmarish season with Chelsea. The Belgian striker is expected to start the game upfront with Lautaro Martinez, as things were a season ago.
