Romelu Lukaku rejoins Inter squad but is uncertain against Fiorentina

On loan from Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku has already missed seven matches in Serie A due to a thigh injury and could be out for Inter‘s trip to Fiorentina on Saturday.

According to what is reported by Sky Sport Italia, Lukaku did some training with his teammates at Inter on Thursday, but his availability for Saturday’s match hangs in the balance.

The report claims that Inter will conduct another training exercise on Friday before leaving for Florence, where they will lock horns with Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina.

In that training session, Lukaku’s fitness will be evaluated, and the final decision will be taken thereafter on whether the Belgian will be in the squad for the game against La Viola or not.

Nevertheless, if the striker fails to show any improvement in his fitness, Simone Inzaghi will not take any risk and would rather give him more time to make his full recovery. Since making his third appearance against Lazio after joining Inter on a season-long loan deal, Lukaku has been out injured. It has been almost two months since he made this last league start against Maurizio Sarri’s team.
