Serie A champions Milan set to sign Schalke’s Malick Thiaw

Milan have now sealed the deal to sign Schalke’s young defender Malick Thiaw this summer.

While it was reported some hours ago that Milan have intensified contacts with the entourage of the defender, it seems as if more concrete progress has been made.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that the move is now done and Milan have closed the deal for the young German-Finnish defender. It is expected that the player will arrive in Milan tomorrow to sign a contract with the Rossoneri and undergo a medical with the club.

Milan had been looking for a defender for a while now this summer and as soon as they had closed in on Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea, the Blues decided to keep him at the club despite the arrival of Wesley Fofana.

Thiaw made his Schalke debut back in 2019 and has featured for the Under-21s Germany side already over the last few seasons.
