Udinese agree to Napoli’s offer for ex-Barcelona star Gerard Deulofeu

Following the departures of Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens, Napoli continue to oversee a renovation in their attacking department. Gerard Deulofeu could soon arrive in Naples.

According to Il Mattino, Udinese have now agreed to accept Napoli’s downward offer of around €16 million for Gerard Deulofeu.

The Partenopei are currently waiting for a couple of more exits before heading towards finalising the deal for the former Barcelona forward.

It is understood that Andrea Petagna will join Monza, making the requisite space in the squad for Deulofeu. Napoli have been keeping tabs on the Spaniard for a long time.

There have been reports of the forward pushing for a move to Luciano Spalletti’s side this summer. The deal has not gone over the line yet.

But with Udinese accepting what Napoli want to pay for the 28-year-old, a potential move has inched closer to competition.

Last season, the Riudarenes-born made 35 appearances for the Friulian club, amassing five goals and nine assists across all competition.
