West Ham look to close deal for Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca

West Ham United are now looking to close their deal to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca this summer.

While it was reported yesterday that both PSG and West Ham are yet to strike an agreement for the Italy international, Alfredo Pedulla has now reported that the Hammers are looking to close a deal for the striker.

Contacts between the two clubs have truly come alive now and the Hammers will make new contact with Sassuolo to potentially close the deal for Scamacca. The Neroverdi had made it clear that they needed €40 million plus bonuses of €7 million to close the deal but West Ham asked for a discount.

Now, a deal could potentially close at an initial €35 million to €37 million plus bonuses that could take the total fee to €42 million or €43 million. This is the base from which parties will start talking again. Scamacca didn’t feature in Sassuolo’s recently friendly and the transfer market developments was one of the reasons for it.
